In my clinic locally, the vast majority are not vaccinated. In this population long haul covid from the infection is found in about 30% of people. It can be mild or debilitating. Also in my clinic, globally, my patients are more likely vaccinated and with a previous cancer or autoimmune diagnosis. They seem to be most affected by the vaccines in my experience – usually with a progression of disease or an immune activation or flare.

The vaccines are an immunotherapy. These kinds of drugs are not new. We’ve been using them in cancer for over a decade. However, there are ways to test and assess if it’s safe to administer an immunotherapy drug – every case is different.
